This course is a perfect introduction to the world of web development and programming. You’ll learn the basics of how to create and style your own websites from scratch. Don’t worry if you’ve never programmed before – this course is designed for total beginners.

- Get started with the basics of web development: HTML (for page content), CSS (for page styling), and JavaScript (for page functionality).
- Learn essential HTML tags including headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, images, links, divs, spans, inputs, and forms.
- Dive into important CSS concepts like selecting elements, setting size and color, understanding the box model, and arranging elements with block, inline, and inline-block displays.
- Explore CSS layouts using flexbox for one-dimensional layouts and the grid system for two-dimensional layouts.
- Master beginner JavaScript concepts such as defining variables, understanding data types, loops, conditional statements, and creating functions.
- Use the DOM (document object model) to interact with HTML elements in JavaScript, enabling you to build web applications.
- Collaboratively create 8 different website projects. You’ll receive all the necessary assets and layouts, and your task will be to bring them to life!

How long is the course, and what is the time commitment?
The course runs for a few weeks, with classes happening three times a week, each session lasting around 1 hour and 10 minutes. Plus, we’ve got library hours on weekends for some extra hangout and Q&A time. I get it – life’s busy, so I’ve made sure to keep things manageable while still giving you plenty of chances to dive into learning and get your questions answered.
What if I have to miss a class?
No problem! Recordings of each class will be available for you to catch up on. If you have questions about anything you missed, just bring them up during library hours. I’m here to make sure you’re fully supported
